Sheldon R Gould

Sheldon Ray Gould, 89, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Detroit Ave. Sheldon was born on August 23, 1927 in Lakewood to T. Ray and Freda Gould. Sheldon served in Navy Reserves and then enlisted in the Army serving from 1952-1954 and his service continued in the Army Reserves for another six years. He was also a member of American Legion Post #553. Sheldon was a Structural Engineer and worked the majority of his career at Owens Illinois and Hoad Engineering. He had also worked for the American Ship Building Company and Owens Corning. Sheldon was a nature, animal and music lover and treasured the times he could enjoy these loves. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Ruth Gould, children Scott, Rhonda, Shelly and Robyn. He is also survived by a brother Robert Gould and sister Patricia Riley, 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3rd from 11 AM-1 PM at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family requests that those considering a memorial contribution make it to the Toledo Humane Society.
