Ruth Irene Gould

Ruth Irene Gould, 89, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at StoryPoint Senior Living in Waterville, Ohio. Ruth was born January 1, 1934 in Lorain, Ohio to Leroy and Ruth Jacobs. Ruth graduated from Clearview High School in Lorain in 1951. She married her soulmate, Sheldon Gould on February 26, 1952 and they shared their lives together for 65 years, until Sheldon’s passing in 2016. Sheldon was a civil designer and structural engineer for Owens Illinois. Ruth worked as a clerk for Foodtown and retired after 20 years. Aside from raising her four children, she also enjoyed sewing and was a voracious reader of various novels.

Ruth and Sheldon raised 4 children; Scott, Rhonda, Rochelle, and Robyn. Ruth is survived by her brother Fred Jacobs; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27 from 3:30-5:30pm, with a funeral service at 5:30pm. This will take place at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, OH. 43614. The family requests that those who would like to make a contribution in Ruth’s memory please make it to the Toledo Human Society or Hospice.
