Robert "Bob" Beauch

Robert (Bob) Nimmo Beauch, 87 of Holland,passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016,at The Lakes of Monclova. He was born January 1,1929 in Saginaw, Ml the son of the late Isabella (Reid) and James Nimmo. Bob grew up in the south end of Toledo and was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church. He was a 1946 graduate of Libbey High School and a 1950 graduate of the University of Toledo where he earned a bachelor degree in chemical engineering. During college Bob met his future wife Jean Zimmerman and they married in 1952. Bob served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War and was stationed at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. Upon his discharge from the Army, Bob began a 45 year career with Toledo Engineering Company, Inc. Bob held numerous positions with the company. He was a licensed professional engineer. Bob was also a member of a number of glass industry / engineering associations. He regularly attended glass industry conferences and international trade shows. He was a recipient of the Phoenix Award for glass industry person of the year. Bob also served on the Phoenix Award committee. He retired from Toledo Engineering Company,Inc. in 1998 as a Senior Vice President and Chairman of the company's European Division. Bob was a generous,giving man who loved and valued his family. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren's accomplishments. He enjoyed family vacations,especially trips to Pawley's Island,South Carolina. Bob was an avid fisherman, enjoyed boating and played tennis for many years. He traveled extensively throughout the world. Together, Bob and Jean were devoted to his alma mater, The University of Toledo. They treasured and generously supported both academic and athletic programs, particularly football and both men's and women's basketball. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years Jea n (Zimmerman) and his children Tim (Molly) of North Canton,Carol Beutler (Dave) of West Chester, Todd of Holland, Paul (Lawren) of Holland and Mary Zawodny (Jim) of Plain City; 7 grandchildren, Colin and Anne Beauch, Bryan and Lindsey Beauch, and Mia, James and Sophie Zawodny;and sister Ann Russell of Lambertville. He will be profoundly missed by his loved ones. The family will receive guests at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave. on Friday,January 13,2017 from 5-8 pm. There will be a memorial service at Walter Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14,2017 at 11:00 am with additional visitation time starting at 10:30 am. Private interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park. For those wishing to make a memorial contribution, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to The University of Toledo Foundation with gifts designated to the Rocket Athletic Department to help student athletes or a donation to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Special thanks to the caregivers at Lakes of Monclova and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the wonderful care provided to Bob.
