Raymond P. Parker

May 2, 1930 — March 7, 2017

Raymond P. Parker died peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital after having had pelvic repair surgery, being in rehabilitation from surgery, and then contracting pneumonia. Up until then, he lived independently and enjoyed walking 2 miles a day and having an adult beverage (or two) in the early evenings. Ray was a veteran of the US Marine Corps , the owner of Glass City Dodge, the creator/proprietor of RediVan Ambulette Service and of German Village Restaurant. He was later a corporate pilot for State Aerial Farm Statistics until his retirement. He loved to read, pilot airplanes, and play golf. Ray was preceded in death by his loving and dedicated wife of over 50 years, Patricia R. (Haiges) Parker in May, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his first grandson, Maxx V. Parker in January, 2011. He was extremely proud of his children, Ronald R. (Susan) Parker, Mark T. Parker, Deborah S. Parker, and Laurie (Bob) Schoonmaker. He also adored his surviving grandchildren, Rachel L. Parker, Navada D. Parker, and Loren E. Azlein. He was especially pleased they were all receiving college degrees. Services will be private pursuant to his wishes. Please raise your glass for a toast or take a long walk in his honor today. walterfuneralhome.com
