Ralph Henry “Moe” Kohring, 82, died on October 4th after a long and courageous battle. He was under the wonderful care of the Kingston Memory Care staff in Perrysburg and Hospice of Northwest OH. He was a life-long resident of Toledo and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business, specializing in Finance from Miami University of Ohio, where he was a proud Sigma Chi. He worked for Owens-Illinois for over 30 years and retired as Vice President of Finance, then working for Harbor Funds as Director of Marketing for an additional three years. He was an extremely active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where he served in many capacities, but primarily as a sports coach, on church council, as a financial director and in initiating many programs there. A contemporary jazz worship service, a worship service held in Walbridge Park, Chairperson of Evangelism Committee, and many more committees and functions found Ralph “Moe” helping in any way that was needed. He was a Trustee on the board of Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg for its first 8 years. He was a member of the finance committee at both Heatherdowns Country Club and Toledo Country Club as well as a member of both. He was on the golf team at Libbey High School and continued loving and playing golf as long as he was able. Ralph Henry Kohring was the son of Norman and Verna Kohring (both deceased). He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Sandra Lea Kohring, and his daughters, Koneta Ann Hurlstone (Robert) and Amy Bruecken (William), and his son, Eric Kohring(Kristin). He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Carter(Vernon) and Carolyn Duermit and his beloved grandchildren: Brynn Hurlstone, Corey Hurlstone and Alyssa Hurlstone (Derek), Nicholas Bruecken (Audra) and Andrew Bruecken, Zachary Kohring, Victoria Kohring and Bailey Kohring. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1825 Glendale Ave, Toledo, Ohio.
