Peggy A. Roach

Peggy Ann Roach passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Peggy was born on June 16, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of Paul and Flossie (Miller) Campbell. In 1962 she married Robert Roach, and they eventually moved to Toledo. She was a beautician, and later was a restaurant manager at Frank Unkle’s, the Swanton Turnpike Plaza, and others. She loved her dogs, Big Peanut, Little Peanut, and Bullet, who were great companions. They were given to her by her good friend, Molly. Peggy was a loving, devoted, and generous mother and grandmother. For 12 years she was a devoted and loving caregiver to her husband who was battling lung cancer. At Heartland of Perrysburg, Peggy enjoyed bingo, making ceramics and jewelry, attending her friend, Lila’s Bible study classes, and especially talking to others. She was always very appreciative of things others did for her. In spite of many painful health problems of her own, she was always upbeat. She found peace and joy in knowing that many friends were praying for her. Peggy is survived by her sons, Phillip (Julie) and Paul (Stacie), eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her sisters, Pat Mehailescu, Treva Kinsey, and Grace (George) McCarel, brother, Robert Campbell, and her sister in law and brother in law, Beverly and Paul Laubenthal, who were her caregivers for the last few years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, and her sister, Elsie. Peggy was grateful to the staff at Heartland of Perrysburg and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for providing her with a loving and caring home for the last six months of her life. She was also very thankful for the excellent pain management care she received from Dr. Atallah and his staff at the UTMC, and Dr. Salvi and his staff at the Toledo Clinic. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Music Department of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or to the Wood County Humane Society, 801 Van Camp Rd., Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at The Walter Funeral Home ,4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio (4 19-382-1700) where the family will receive friends.
