Peggie was baptized on October 3, 1948 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Huntington, IN and confirmed in 1962 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Battle Creek, MI.
Peggie lived in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio during her childhood as her father worked in various stores for JCPenney. Maumee, OH became home for Peggie and her three brothers when she was a teenager, and she lived her whole adult life in the Toledo area. Peggie’s beloved second career was at The Toledo Zoo in Park Operations, where she affectionately became known as the “Zoo Mom.”
Peggie married Robert (Bob) Hausch on July 9, 1982. They shared a life of love and laughter and had a daughter, Bethany. Peggie and Bob loved being in nature. They enjoyed camping, watching wildlife, visiting the Toledo metroparks, and spending time by the Maumee river. Peggie had dogs throughout her life, and they held a special place in her heart. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, and working in her flower beds.
Peggie was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, which she faithfully attended until her dementia was advanced. Peggie went home to her Savior, Jesus, on April 16, 2024. Peggie is survived by her husband Bob, her brothers Joe (Becky Readinger), Jeff (Joyce Agle), and Greg (Pat Panning), her daughter Bethany Lam (Solomon), and her grandson Theophilus Lam.
