June 29, 1986 – June 17, 2024

On June 17, 2024, Missy Huerta, our beloved “baby girl” grew her wings to heaven, surrounded by her family. She was born at St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio on June 29, 1986.

Missy fought a courageous battle till the end. The family is so proud of her fight and determination, to not only win the battle, but the will to live another day.

Missy attended Holy Rosary School for grade school. She graduated from Waite High School, where she played the clarinet in the band. She went on to graduate from Mercy College with a bachelor degree in healthcare administration. While at Mercy, she was in Phi Theta Kappa national honor society. She went on to pursue her MBA at the University of Findlay, where she graduated with Cum Laude honors. At Findlay, she was involved in the international honor society in business.

Missy had two jobs; she was employed at American Rail Center in Walbridge Ohio as an office associate and worked part-time at Stranahan Theater, as a bartender.

She was a proud member of St. Patrick’s of Heatherdown church.

She loved going for walks in the mall with her boyfriend and hanging out with family.

Missy was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes football fan. She loved watching the games with all her gear on, making a lot of noise, with family and friends. She was also, a New England Patriot’s football fan.

She leaves behind to cherish great stories and memories; her boyfriend Brian, her mom, Esther, her brothers and sisters; Liza, Chris (Debbie), Louie, Sylvia (Rick), Daniel, David, Pat (Krystal), Paul (Sherri), Aunt Angelita Gomez, nieces and nephews; Vanessa (TJ), Breanna, Sergio, Corinna, Alexandra, Reana, Jessica, Jenna, Blake, Dylan, great nieces/nephews Avelena, Olivia, Graciella, Harlen, Timothy, Carlos, Holden, Ophelia, and several cousins, and a ton of friends.

Missy was preceded in death, by her dad, Jesse, her brother, Benny, and grandfather, grandpa Mancha.

The family would like to thank hospice of Northwest Ohio, and all of the family and friends who have reached out to us, during this difficult time. Missy was loved by so many, and will be missed. The Huerta family appreciates the outpouring support, from so many!

Visitation will be on June 20, 2024, at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Service and burial will take place on June 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Toledo Memorial Park. When pulling into the park, a representative will direct you to the Chapel of Peace. Condolences may be shared online, arrangements made by www.walterfuneralhome.com.
