Mary Lou Baertschi

Mary Lou Baertschi, age 82, went to be with the Lord Jesus on January 9, 2023. Born October 15, 1940 to Curtis and Nellie Shepler. Graduated with honors from Arlington Elementary School and Libbey High School and was employed at Copco Paper Company until 1969 when she became a stay at home mom.

She was a member of the PTA at Burroughs school and served at Faith Lutheran Church in “Youth Club” as well as a member of the “New Pastor Selection Committee”.

She was especially committed to the childhood friends of her children and was a devoted and loving mother and wife.

She also loved our numerous cats and dogs which were part of her life until the end.

Preceded in death by her parents; sister Betty; and brother John.

Survived by her husband David; daughter Becky Niedermier (Troy); Son David (Tori) ; granddaughter Isabella and sister Joan Ehrlich as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Tributes may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and School; Hospice of Northwest Ohio; Lucas County Humane Society; or one’s personal choice.

Family and friends will be received at Walter Funeral Home at 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43614, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Funeral Service will be held at Walter Funeral Home on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
