Mary A. Worden, 84, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Monday morning, July 3, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Mary was born in Toledo, Ohio and proudly attended Central Catholic High School. She worked at the old Lamson’s Department store and married her husband, Bill Worden, on May 9, 1959. Mary focused her efforts on raising her two children before returning to work in retail sales at Hallmark and finally as a demo coordinator at Kroger’s before retiring.
Mary was a devoted Christian and a member of Church of St. Andrew, Historic St. Pat’s, as well as Immaculate Conception. She was deeply committed to helping others, including running the Feed Your Neighbor program with her husband Bill at Faith Lutheran Church on South Avenue for over 10 years. Mary continued to support the organization up until her death by soliciting donations and purchasing much needed items for the pantry during her weekly grocery trips. She dearly loved spending time with her immediate family, her siblings and their children, High School classmates, lifelong friends, and the incredible men & women of Watercrest Village, where Mary resided for 24 years. Mary cherished sending cards to friends and loved ones for every special occasion, and always offered prayers and support when needed most.
Mary is survived by her children Jeanne Baker (Bruce) of Maumee and Dave Worden (Marla) of Cincinnati, grandchildren Megan, Nolan, & Zac Baker, and Abby & Mitch Worden, sisters Judy Pidcock (special niece Chris Schmidt), Pat Kratzman (Jim), and Sister-in-Law Mary Ann Louthan. Proceeding her in death were her husband Bill Worden, parents Thelma and Edward Grey, sisters June Bailey (Bud), Ginny Wannemacher (Paul), and brothers Don Grey (Gerri), Frank Grey (Ruth), and Jim Grey.
