Marion Robert Bryan

Marion Robert Bryan, age 72, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away suddenly on December 17, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. Marion was a proud graduate of Waite High School, where he was an outstanding football player. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart for brave actions in battle. Marion worked for the Chrysler Jeep Corp. for 30 years before his retirement. He was a proud member of UAW Local 12. He and his wife are members of the Church of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, where he served on their Leadership Board. He enjoyed playing cards especially Bridge and enjoyed playing at the Maumee Senior Center where he was an active member. Marion loved boating and time on the water and was a member of the Maumee River Yacht Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Violet Bryan and a brother Clyde Edward and sister Ercell Pearl. He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Bryan, children Amanda and Marion Bryan, Matt (Kim) Bryan, Kristin Kinney, Debbie Tucholski and Kelly Bryan, brother Jerry Lee (Kathi) Bryan. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and very close family friends. “Marion was a kind-hearted loving husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend. He loved life and always gave thanks for every day. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and friends. He loved God and his Country. He will always be remembered for his positive attitude and hopeful spirit; always a smile and joke to share. Thank you for this wonderful life we shared… Love, Carol” Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. from the Church of St. Andrew UMC, 3620 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio 43614. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of St. Andrew UMC, Maumee Senior Center, or charity of the donor’s choice.
