Mabel M. Taylor, 96, passed away Sunday, May 8th, just 2 days short of her 97th birthday. She was a loving wife, mother and a true inspiration to all. She was born to Watson and Estelle (Barker) Sappington in Humboldt, TN. She worked at Riverside Hospital from 1961 to 1981 when she retired as a nurse’s assistant and ward secretary. Mabel belonged to the Riverside Care Guard, Riverside Pastimers, and was a volunteer for Mercy Health Partners’ Knitters and Crochet-ers’ for many years. She loved to crochet, read and do crossword puzzles. In 1937 she married her high school sweetheart, Milburn, and they were happily married for 63 years. In addition to her many activities, Mabel was a long time member of the Second Baptist Church and Cass Road Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by many. She is preceded in death by her husband, Milburn, 1 brother, 3 sisters and her only daughter, Barbara Habel. Mabel is survived by her son; Richard Taylor, her grandchildren; Julie (Darryl) Dean, Jodie (Ron) Short, Jason Habel, Todd (Lisa) Taylor and Cindy Taylor. She is also survived by her 4 great-grandchildren; Taylor, Tyler, Raymond and Nolan. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave, Toledo, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, May 12th, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Contributions may be made to the Cass Road Baptist Church or Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio. walterfuneralhome.com
