Larry Thomas Tarr (Tom), 83, of Toledo, OH. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 16,2024, at UTMC Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1941 in Toledo, OH to James and Hazel (Flanigan) Tarr.
He retired from Head Start where he was a bus driver for several years. He also worked at Lott Industries, Keizer Aluminon, Strong Electric, and Toledo Beaver.
Tom was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a softball/baseball umpire and basketball referee and was a member of a CB club. Tom loved spending time with his family. He also loved dogs and playing cards.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joanne (Muetzel); children, Mark Tarr (Chris Bohland), and Lisa Shultz; grandchildren, Tracy and Thomas Mclain, Tyler Shultz, and Carter Tarr; great-grandchild, Trenton Mclain. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Mary Tarr, Pauline Tarr, Marilyn (Edward) Head, Connie (Emil) Henneman, Karen Enis, and brother-in-law, Harold (Janelle) Muetzel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles (Robert), James, Donald, William, and Raymond Tarr and sisters Florence Schmidt, Betty Kurth, Lois Rawlings, Shirley Kurth, Marlene Hodak, and Carol Tarr.
Tom will be buried at Toledo Memorial Park. Family and friends may visit at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, OH. on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM, with funeral services following at 1 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
