Joseph H. Chester

Joseph H. Chester, 94, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015, at Waterford at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born on June 6, 1921, to Berton and Ethel (Mohr) Chester in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1939 graduate of Libbey High School and a WWII Air Force Veteran. Joseph was married to the late Dorothy (Rominski) Chester for 65 years. He retired from the former Textile Leather Co. in 1985. Joe enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing poker and watching sports. He was an avid fan of the University of Toledo Rockets football and basketball teams, Duke University basketball and the Detroit Tigers. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his children, Marti (Chris) Fischer, Millie (Chris) Byrnes, Win (Julie) Chester and Joe Chester Jr.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Wanda Enright of San Mateo, CA. Visitation will be held Monday, December 7 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, OH.
