John "Jack" W. Storey, 93, passed away on Saturday evening, February 27, 2021 at Kingston Rehab in Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, on May 22, 1927 to Harold and Myrtle (Stead) Storey. John moved to Toledo in 1947 to work at Motor Rebuilders and Parts, of which he later became the owner and CEO. In 1948 he met Virginia Heft and they married on June 26, 1954. John became a U.S. citizen in 1956. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper. John had been an active member of the Zenobia Shrine and served as the Potentate in 1991. John was also a member of the Barton Smith Masonic Lodge No. 613. John was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dr. Mark Storey; sisters, Anna (Harold) Stewart and Eleanor (Harry) Cook; and brother, David (Bonnie) Storey. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Heft) Storey; sons, Jeffery (Adrienne) Storey, Sr., Scott (Tracy) Storey; grandchildren, Jeffery (Patty) Storey, Jr., Jennifer (Mike) Storey, Kahla (Jerrod) Storey, Andrew Storey, Stephen Storey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday, March 4th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Barton Smith Masonic Lodge services beginning at 7:00 p.m. John’s funeral service will be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. for the family. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Visitors attending the visitation or service must wear a facial covering and follow social distancing guidelines.
