John Francis Valduga of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on February 7, 2017 at the age of 79. John was born in Avella PA, in 1938 before moving to Cleveland, OH at a young age. John graduated from Collinwood High School in Cleveland. He graduated from Ohio University in Athens with his Mechanical Engineering degree. John was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He went on to get his masters at the University of Toledo while working at Owens-Illinois. John worked for Owens-Illinois exclusively in various leadership and engineering positions, for nearly 40 years. He and his family lived in Toledo, Ohio; Waco, Texas; Alton, Illinois; Marion, Indiana; and Streator, Illinois. He also held positions in Clarion, Pennsylvania; Milan, Italy and New Delhi, India. John was an avid golfer, known for not one, but two holes-in-one. He was also a fisherman, even having to be rescued from the ice on Lake Erie. He had a host of friends who will miss him, his infectious sense of humor, along with his great smile. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Frances and his brother Richard Valduga. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, his daughters Kathy (David) Juhl, Naperville, IL, Michelle (Ned) Quinn, Grand Rapids, MI and son Jim (Amanda) Valduga, Kelowna, BC, Canada. Grandchildren: Tyler and Austin Quinn, Madeleine and Sophia Juhl, and sisters-in-law Norma Prekler and Karen Valduga. He will also be missed by his many nephews, nieces, aunts and cousins. A memorial service will be held at The Walter Funeral Home at 4653 Glendale; Toledo, Ohio 43614 on Saturday, February 11. We look forward to seeing his friends and family from 10 am -12 noon with a memorial service to follow at Noon.
