John F. “Jack” Momany, 86, of south Toledo passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Hospice of NW Ohio in Toledo. Jack was born on September 9, 1930 in Toledo Ohio to Curt and Thelma (Schutt) Momany. A class of 1948 graduate of Waite High School, Jack was an All-City football player and went on to play football at Bowling Green State University while he was attending there. Jack went on to serve in the US Army and spent time stationed in Sapporo, Japan. Upon his return, he went to work for Toledo Edison and worked there for 39 years. Jack served on the Board of Directors of the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio and was a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Jack was also an Inductee into the Birmingham Hall of Fame He is preceded in death by his parents and by a brother Robert. Jack is survived by his loving wife Marian (Miller) Momany and children Nancy (Tom) Mueller and Robert (Patti) Momany and grandchildren Alice, Amanda and Emily Momany Visitation will be held at The Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Sunday, August 13th from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 14th at 10 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Jon Bell, officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethel Lutheran Church, 1853 South Ave., 43609.
