Joan M. Howe

Joan M. Howe was called home to the Lord, August 24, 2018 at the age of 90. Joan was born to Fred and Marie Howe. She was a graduate of Libbey High School and worked as a secretary at Sun Oil Company and The Spieker Company. In her retirement, she volunteered at the Walbridge Library. She enjoyed simple things like reading, sewing, knitting, cake decorating, gardening and nature walks. Her children were four footed and hairy. She was never without a dog or cat or both. She loved all with a tender giving heart. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nancy Weitzel. She is survived by her sister Lois Wise; brother-in-law Robert Weitzel; 9 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews and 6 great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue on Saturday, September 1st from 10 a.m. until Noon, with services to begin at Noon. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of NWO; Toledo Humane Society or the Toledo Lucas County Library.
