Jeffrey A. Lavender, 61, born August 6, 1962 to Fred and Evelyn (Foster) Lavender in Toledo, Ohio, passed away November 5, 2023, comfortably surrounded by his loved ones by his side.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 42 years, Cindy Lavender. He was a devoted and proud father of his daughters, Leah Cowell (Bryan Shank), Jennifer Simpson (Rob), and Brandi Mierzwiak (Chris). He was a loving Papa to his grandsons, Devin, Caleb, Jeffrey, Jackson and Lucas; granddaughters, Chloe, Abigail, Lillyan, and Jillyan; and great-grandson, Jeffrey Jr. Also surviving are his sisters, Barbara Myers (Ron) and Pamela Bryant; brother and sisters-in-law; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Evelyn (Foster) Lavender; parent-in-laws, Paul and Nancy Buck; brother, Jerry Lavender; sisters, Sharon DeStazio, Marsha Slemp, and Kimberly Smith; sister-in-law, Bonnie Buck; brothers-in-law, Dave Smith and Harold Bryant; nephew and godson, Billy Zeller; and several other loved ones.
Jeffrey began his career siding homes with his father at just 12 years old. He then went on to become an expert framer, a home builder and remodeler, and owner of West River Building Company, participating as Lead Framer for the framing crew of Extreme Home Makeover - Toledo. He loved his career as a framer and builder and was the holder of the Golden Hammer.
During his free time he enjoyed traveling with his wife and visiting wineries, spending quality time with his daughters and their families, and riding his motorcycle with his friends and club brothers and sisters. He was a proud member of the Centurions Motorcycle Club. Jeff was a social butterfly, always talking to anyone who walked by or sat next to him while out. He always enjoyed the times at the lake, boating, swimming and sitting by the campfire. He was an avid Nascar racing fan, traveling to different races with family and friends. He loved teaching and going hunting and fishing with his grandsons and raising his grandson Devin.
Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Friday November 10th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio
