Janet Mary (Switzer) Steinwand Janet Mary Switzer Steinwand, 87, passed away on December 20th at Lakes of Monclova, Maumee, Ohio where she lived out her legacy since May 2017. She was born November 6, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to parents Gale and Irene (Clemens) Switzer. She graduated from Libbey High School in 1949, where is met the love of her life Thomas Steinwand and they married in 1951. They were married for 63 years (until his passing in 2014). Janet was employed by JC Penny’s for more than 22 years. She enjoyed network marketing with Starlight International. Janet enjoyed traveling with her husband on cruises to Mexico and Maui as well as planning family trips camping or spending time at their cottage in Michigan. She was a devoted and longtime member of Calvary Church as well as previously attending Corner Stone Church. Her life was lead by unconditional love and faith. Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Steinwand, parents Gale Switzer and Irene (Clemens) Switzer, brothers Alton Switzer, Donald Switzer and her sister Margaret (Switzer) Hardy. She is survived by her three children James(Karen) Steinwand, Kim(David)Myers, Chris(Frederick)Peters. Also surviving are grandchildren Nathan(Amanda)Myers, Nicholas(Jessica) Myers, Brittany (Daniel) Behrens, Andrew Steinwand, Megan Peters, Mia Peters and nine great grandchildren. Her love will be carried on through generations. The family will welcome friends at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday, December 27th from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Church, 1360 Conant St, Maumee, Ohio. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Those planning a memorial gift are asked to consider Calvary Church or Promedica Hospice.
