James Calton "Jim" Miller Sr.

James C. Miller, Sr. “Jim”, age 94, of Toledo, Ohio and his lake house at Clark Lake, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 10, 2023 at Browning Masonic Community in Waterville, Ohio.

Jim was born on September 14, 1928 to Charles and Nola (Hahnlen) Miller. Jim worked for 43 years at Acklin Stamping Company and retired in 1992. He was a member of Zenobia Shrine and was active in the Director’s Unit, and was a member of Triad Masonic Lodge and Barton Smith Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time at his lake house.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joyce (Moline) Miller, in 2004; his parents; and brothers, Charles and Robert Miller.

He is survived by children, Vicki Mersino, Nola “Nonie” Foy, James C. Miller, Jr. (Brian Bittikofer); grandchildren, David (Gina) Demecs, Shasta Demecs, Brent (Amy) Harbaugh; great-grandchildren, David Demecs, Jr., Jackson Harbaugh, Tristin Demecs, Katelyn Harbaugh; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Barton Smith Masonic Lodge service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospitals or Southern Care Hospice.
