Isabel Gorsuch Brubaker 1924-2020 Isabel Gorsuch Brubaker, 96, of Pemberville, formerly of Bowling Green, OH died on December 22, 2020 in Pemberville, OH. Isabel, daughter of William and Mary Smith was born on July 10, 1924 in Barre, Vermont. After the great flood of 1927, the Smith Family moved to Toledo, OH where Isabel grew up and married Earl B. Gorsuch on June 20, 1942. They were married 37 years and had five children. Isabel married William Brubaker on August 9, 1990. They were married 4 years. Earl B. Gorsuch, William Brubaker, and her daughter, Grace Gorsuch preceded Isabel in death. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Landis (Gerald), and sons: Earl R. Gorsuch (Audrey), Dennis Gorsuch, and Mark Gorsuch, 8 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren. Isabel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Isabel will be remembered fondly for the joy she brought to those around her as well as her gift for cooking and entertaining. From family dinners to elaborate catered celebrations, Isabel’s food was featured at the Geiser Restaurant, Foodtown delicatessens, Gladieux Foods, the Toledo Museum of Art, Maumee Valley Country Day School, Toledo Yacht Club, Maumee River Yacht Club, Gorsuch Foods, Sweetwater Estates, BGSU, and the Andersons. She owned and operated Gorsuch Foods, a catering company, where she catered weddings, parties, and special occasions. In addition, Isabel enjoyed playing the organ, singing, and gardening, as well as spending time with family. The last years of her life were spent at Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community. Isabel has been entrusted to Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave, Toledo, OH. There will be no visitation due to COVID-19 restrictions. Burial will be private at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Isabel would love for everyone to have a special tea party in her honor and celebrate her life well lived. A special celebration will be held later, when family and friends can gather and share memories, photos, and recipes to honor Isabel’s life. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice in Isabel’s memory.
