Harold F. Boehler

Harold F. “Hal” Boehler, age 98, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Lakes of Monclova Care Center. Harold was born on April 25, 1918 to Elmer and Mary (Miller) Boehler here in Toledo, Ohio. Harold was a graduate of Woodward High School and the University of Toledo. He entered the Army Air Corps in 1941 and served with the 490th Bomb Group in the European Theatre during World War II. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain in 1945. Harold worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and studying nature. He was a longtime member of Heatherdowns Country Club. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie in 201, his brother Robert Boehler and sisters Ruth Ridenour and Mildred Beebe. He is survived by his children Thomas (Sheila) Boehler, Nancy (Robert) Wiese, Beverly (Frederick) Johlin and Barbara (Lynn) Matty. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation and services will be Private. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
