Gloria J. Litten

Gloria Litten died peacefully on September 23, 2017 in her residence at The Woodlands, Toledo at the age of 92. The last of the children of Albertina and Elmer Weaver she was born May 16, 1925; six siblings preceded her in death. After graduation from Libbey High School in 1944, Gloria earned a secretarial diploma from Stautzenberger College. Gloria volunteered at St. Luke Hospital and enjoyed traveling with her second husband and close friends. Playing piano was her favorite pastime; so earnest was she about her performance, Gloria took lessons until she was 91! Gloria was preceded in death by two husbands: Theodore C. Suchala whom she married in 1947 and John R. Litten whom she married in 1973. Surviving are three daughters, Sister Constance Marie Suchala SND of Toledo, Denise (Tom) Mouch of Tucson, AZ, Susan (Chris) Elliott of Driftwood, TX, two stepsons, Charles Litten of Warsaw, OH and Randy Litten of Roanoke, VA, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will celebrate Gloria’s life with a memorial mass of resurrection at Little Flower Church on September 26, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. Family will greet mourners at the Church one hour before the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Cherry Street Mission. The family extends their appreciation to all of Gloria’s friends and the staff at The Woodlands, to her recent caregivers, and to the staff of Heartland Hospice for their patience and kindness during the last six months.
