Glenn "Don" Ginter, age 75, of Maumee, Ohio, had no closing time while on the clock. From early morning to late evening he filled the hours with a matchless will to complete the work that was set before him. He labored faithfully until the final whistle called him home, delivering the spirit of this big-hearted man into the hands of our LORD, who he so believed in. Don was gifted at birth with a problem solver's mindset and a love of sports. He was able to tackle the challenges of his youth while competing in football at Toledo Central Catholic. After graduating in 1960, he carried those lessons throughout his life, never forgetting what it meant to follow through and finish the job. Don left this world while at home, in the early morning hours of February 5th. Don was born in 1942 to Glenn and Kathryn "Kate" Ginter, in Toledo, Ohio. His life was one of commitment and devoted service to his family, to his faith, to his business, and to those who looked to him for leadership. After High School, he worked for a time at Powertrain, and with Ed Kelly and Sons, Inc. before becoming a paving contractor and owner of D.G. Slurry Seal of Toledo, Inc. He took great care in smoothing out the bumps in the road, on the job or in life, and he was good at it. Like his life, his business carried an A+ Rating on the BBB Scorecard. It brought him tremendous joy to coach both boys' and girls' CYO basketball at Christ the King, Regina Coeli, and St. Joseph's in Ida, MI. He was skilled at nurturing children and providing them with the fundamentals of teamwork that would carry them into their working lives. He was fortunate to have coached his own children, the children of others, and even a few parents with the proper way to play the game. He could diffuse a tense moment with his incredible sense of humor and turn anger into laughter. His allies were his wit, his disarming nature, his unfailing loyalty, and his belief that God would grant us all the ability to see beyond what our human eyes allow. He was a source of pride and comfort to his large family, never forgetting to call with a word of encouragement, a funny story or joke (X10), or a word of wisdom from one who knew. And when he had time to play, he enjoyed the freedom from his worldly cares by crashing through the waves of Lake Erie on his boat, and all were welcome to ride along. His loss leaves those who loved him with an overwhelming heartache, and a prayer for peace. Don is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Linda (Mulvaney) Ginter; his children, Natalie Ginter; Kimberly (Timothy) Kepling; Glenn Chip (Kristen) Ginter; Kathryn (Eric) Erdman; Raymond Morris; Mathew Morris; his sisters, Carol (Jim) Shrader; Mary Noggle; Kathryn (Douglas) Greenlee; Teresa Earl; his brothers, John Ginter; James (Karen) Ginter; his grandchildren, Bradley (Andrea) Brettschneider; Andrew Kepling; Eric Jr. Erdman, Molly Erdman, Eleanor Erdman, Macey Erdman, Raymond (Carrie) Morris; Erin Morris; great-grandchildren, Nadia; Seth; Sophia, Henrick; expecting a new baby grandchild in March, and a new great-grandchild in June; many beloved nieces, nephews, and limitless friends.
