Gil Martin Moorman

Gilbert Martin Moorman, 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away July 23, 2017 at his home, following a lengthy illness. Gil was the son of Gilbert and Thelma (Fisher) Moorman. He was a veteran of the US Army. Gil worked in the Material Handling Industry for various companies in Ohio, Michigan and Illinois. Gil was active in the Toledo Federation Basketball Leagues from the 1950’s thru the 1970’s. He was a proud OSU Buckeye supporter and was fortunate to attend the majority of Rose Bowl games from 1997 to 2014. Gil enjoyed travelling, but trips to Torch Lake every summer was his favorite vacation. Gil is survived by his wife of 49 years, (August 10, 1948), Barbara Ginther Moorman; sons, Christopher (Rachel), Jonathan (Tina), Corey (Alicia); grandchildren Emory, Matthew and Dylan. Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Monday, July 31st from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 1st at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
