Frederick L Bryan, 89, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by family. He was born October 18, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio, to Frederick M and Wilma E (Pennington) Bryan. Fred married the love of his life, Helen Christine (Culliver) on November 26, 1955, and celebrated 53 years together until her death in August, 2009. Fred resided at Oak Leaf Village Assisted Living and was loved by everyone.
Fred worked 30 years at Seaway Foodtown, retiring in 1999. Fred enjoyed fishing and tending to his yard, especially his roses. Fred was a longtime member of South Toledo Baptist Church and then Church of the Cross. He was very involved in church serving as a Deacon for many years. Fred was known for his giving spirit, humor, and loving the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Fred is survived by his daughters Vicki Warner (Carl), Pamela Myers (Steve Hyder), grandchildren Aaron Metzger (Sarah), Scott Metzger, Joshua Warner, Christopher Warner, Jennifer Warner, and brother Robert Bryan; great-granddaughters Margaret, Elizabeth and Heidi. He is also survived by loving nieces and a nephew. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Wilma, beloved wife Helen Christine, and brother Kenneth.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Church of the Cross, 1750 Eastgate Rd., Toledo, OH. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with the service held at 11:30am. Graveside service will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, at 12:00 pm where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Helen Christine.
