Ernie

Ernest “Ernie” A. Lange, Jr., 88, of Toledo passed away suddenly at his residence on September 30, 2023. Ernie was born in Toledo, Ohio, on November 8, 1934 to Ernest, Sr. and Gretel (Albert) Lange. Mr. Lange worked for 33 years for Columbia Gas of Ohio, owned the Aquarium Center for 33 years and for the last 19 years worked at Monette’s Market on Glendale Avenue. He also ran The Hobby Shop at Great Eastern for many years.

Ernie was raised Lutheran and served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. He was blessed to work professionally at jobs aligned with his hobbies and passions of tropical fish and model railroading.

He is survived by his son Craig Lange and daughter Rebecca (Bill) Lober; Grandchildren Andy (Lindsey), Chad (Miranda) and Jayme (Zak) Lange and Stephen Lober. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Ernie will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, Ohio. Memorials in his name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
