EmmaMae Rasey, 84 of Toledo, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. EmmaMae was born to John and Irmgard Moran on June 12, 1939. She graduated from Whitney High School in 1957 and shortly after, she married the love of her life Ray Rasey on June 29, 1957. The following year, Ray and Emma welcomed 3 beautiful daughters Dianna, Denise (Neek) and Deanna. The Rasey Triplets.
EmmaMae worked as a beautician for over 50 years, eventually owning her own salon in South Toledo “Em’s Beauty Salon” until 2010. EmmaMae was an avid bunco member for 63 years, keeping up the tradition through family. EmmaMae was also a member of Park Congregational Church and the Toledo Sailing Club.
EmmaMae and Ray loved spending their free time at their Florida home as well as their Michigan property “Achen Acres.” EmmaMae had a passion for life and made sure to spend as much of it as she could with family and friends. EmmaMae had a smile that made life more beautiful and it will be missed by all that knew her.
EmmaMae was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Ray Rasey; parents John & Irmgard Moran; mother and father in-law Paul & Violet Rasey; daughter Denise (Neek) and son in-law Marty Schuette; son in-law John Berning; brother Jack Moran and sister and brother in-law Pauline & Norm Miller. EmmaMae is survived by her daughters Dianna Berning and Deanna (Scott) Thompson and brother Thomas (Alisa) Moran. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicole (Sam) Etherton; Troy Schuette; Heather (Curtis) Pahl; Ashley (Mark) Miller; Natalie Thompson and Tracey (Nikk) Karns; as well as 10 loving great-grandchildren Collin, Jake, Erin, Kelsey, Lexi, Riley, Logan, Sadi, Aubrey and Carolynn.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, July 21st from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave, Toledo, Oh. EmmaMae’s funeral service will begin at the funeral home on Saturday, July 22nd at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
Emma’s family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care they provided during Emma’s final time. Longtime friends, Dick Burkett and Dottie Veitch who she considered as her “4th daughter” as well as neighboring family for all their help.
