Edward M. Stanley

August 12, 1956 – September 23, 2024

Edward M. Stanley, 68, passed away suddenly on September 23, 2024. Born on August 12,

1956, in Pennsylvania, Ed was the beloved son of Robert and Amelia Stanley. He was raised in

Point Place, Ohio, by his grandparents, Edward and Florence Stanley, along with his Aunt Rose

Carey.

From the age of 14, Ed began working in the family asphalt business, where he developed a

lifelong passion for the trade. For over 45 years, he owned and operated Discount Paving,

earning a reputation for his dedication and skill. In his later years, he semi-retired and took great

pride in supporting his son, Edward, and his nephew, Ronnie Broadway, in their business, R&S

Paving.

Ed was a loving husband to Linda Stanley, with whom he shared 5 children: Kelly Rose (Bryan),

Trisha Misch (Nicholas), Sherry Vargas (Dallas), Amy Corsini (Tony), and Edward Stanley Jr.

(Corri). His legacy lives on through his children, 16 cherished grandchildren, and one

great-grandchild, who will remember him as a kind-hearted man who was always the life of the

party.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ameilia Stanley; his grandparents, Edward

and Florence Stanley; his Aunt Rose Carey; and his sisters, Rosemarie Stanley and Bessie

Broadway. He is survived by his four loving sisters: Millie, Laural, Debbie, and Emma, along with

many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A man of many passions, Ed was an avid pool enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and

playing chess. He loved watching movies, with John Wayne being one of his favorite actors. He

also cherished spontaneous family Sunday drives, often filling the car with all the kids for a day

of adventure. Known for his love of ice cream and his appreciation for good food, he enjoyed

seeking out the best dining spots from Detroit to Cleveland to Columbus.

Ed will be remembered for his warm spirit, his work ethic, and his ability to bring joy to those

around him. His family, friends, and all who knew him will miss him deeply. His memory will

continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
