Doris Jean Kohntopp Doris Jean (Arnold) Kohntopp, 90, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2017 at Genacross Lutheran Services Wolf Creek Campus in Holland, Ohio. Doris was born on October 9, 1926 in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Clay High School and Davis Business College, before working at the Sun Oil Company. Later, she worked as a secretary for the Toledo Public Schools retiring in 1992 from Beverly Elementary. She was married to her loving husband, Emil Kohntopp, for 66 years, and they raised five children together. The family enjoyed spending time on the water at their Coldwater Lake cottage. Doris loved nothing more than to have her entire family gathered together at the lake for swimming, boating, and playing cards in the evening with her precious grandchildren. She was loved by her family and many friends for her positive, fun-loving spirit and will be greatly missed. Her grandchildren, especially, adored and admired their dear grandma. Doris was a faithful member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Doris is survived by her five loving children, sons: Thomas (Amy), Donald (Ann), Robert (Jill), and daughters: Janet Anello, and Nancy (Paul) Willson, sister-in-law Betty Orth, along with 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Robbie Anello, brothers: Richard, Melvin, and Lester Arnold. The family will receive guests Friday, January 13, 2017 at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio from 3-8 PM. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Walter Funeral Home, with a showing before the service from 9-10 AM. Interment will follow the service at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, Ohio. The children would like to thank the staff at Genacross for the loving and compassionate care given to their mother for the past two years.
