Donald Harvey Foulk, 96, passed away on July 10, 2021 at Genacross Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek, Holland, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Fred and Helen (Mosier) Foulk, on November 16, 1924. Donald was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army Air Corp, as a gunner with the 303rd Bombardment Group, 358th Squadron, until he was honorably discharged in 1945. In 2017 he received the French Medal of Honor for his service in 3 campaigns to liberate France. He served in the Senior ROTC at the University of Toledo from 1945 to 1949 until he left to get married and start his family. At the same time he enlisted in the Ohio National Guard and served until he was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1951. He graduated from UT in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering . He worked hard, played hard, and love to travel. Donald was a member of the Toledo Sailing Club, Masonic Lodge, and the Zenobia Shriners, where he was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps and the Jeepsters Unit. He also was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Elks Lodge. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lois Geringer Foulk; and his daughter Susan Schroeder; brothers Earl and James Foulk. He is survived by his daughter Donna Brazell; grandchildren Kim (Steve) Ballard, Jody Ballard, Brenda (Mark) Richardson, Donald (Jennifer) Ballard; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and sisters May Hobart, Vera Huffman and Margaret Anthony. Memorial donations may be sent to Zenobia Shriners, 8048 Broadstone Rd. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551, or a veteran organization of your choice. Donald’s final resting place will be next to his wife Lois, in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Ohio.
