David R. Dierks

David R. Dierks, age 65, joined his heavenly home on Saturday, September 10, 2016, with his wife by his side. He was born on July 15, 1951 in Laramie, Wyoming to the late Edmund and Gertrude (Scheer) Dierks. Raised in Defiance, Ohio, he married his wife, Shari, on September 7, 1974 and lived in Toledo for over 40 years until the time of his passing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. David began his career as the Director of Pharmacy at Riverside Hospital and was most recently employed as a pharmacist at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was able to touch and save many lives over his 43 year career. He is survived by his wife, Shari (Widmer) Dierks; children, Derek (Laura) Dierks and Megan (Evan) Vogel; and granddaughter Elise Vogel. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. The Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Avenue.
