Charles (Charlie) Knott age 89, of Maumee, OH passed away on Sunday October 31, 2021. He was born to Roy & Ethel Knott on May 30, 1932 in Toledo, OH. He graduated from Libbey High School in 1950 and served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War. Charlie married Betty Solomon December 14, 1957 in Garfield Heights, OH. Charlie along with Al Baker co-owned Al & Chuck's Sohio in the south end for 10 years from 1956 to 1966. Charlie was a truck driver for Matlack and Refiners Transport until he retired in 1987. He was then a bus driver for Maumee Public Schools from 1987 to 1997. He was an avid Nascar fan and loved drag racing. He was a lifelong member of The Lancers Club .Charlie loved having his family around and enjoyed spending time with his many friends especially at all of the car shows he attended throughout the years. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents and sisters Josephine Albright and Carol Rosenhahn. Charlie leaves behind children Peggy Brahier, Jerry (Julie) Knott and Brian Knott, Grandchildren Amanda (James) Conklin, Jenna (Alex) Pilcher, Jake Knott, Branson, Cameron and Mason Knott, Great Grandchildren Daniel and Olivia Conklin. Visitation will be held at The Walter Funeral Home 4653 Glendale Ave. Toledo, OH on Thursday November 4, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00. Funeral services will be held at Walter Funeral Home at 10:00 on Friday November 5, 2021. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, OH.
