Charlene Marie (Spealman) Fritch

Charlene Marie (Spealman) Fritch, 91, of Holland entered the presence of her Lord on March 30, 2023 at home after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on October 28, 1931, to Charles and Florence (Clay) Spealman in Toledo. Charlene graduated from Swanton High School in 1949 and married Walter D. Fritch on May 15, 1954. Walt preceded her in death on January 1, 2008.

Charlene served as a purchasing secretary for Johns Manville for 18 years, retiring in 1987. After they both retired, Charlene and Walt thoroughly enjoyed traveling and 16 years wintering in Florida. Charlene enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking and cooking for her family. She was a long-time member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Toledo.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Gary Fritch; granddaughter Megan Fritch; and grandson Jeremy Fritch. She is survived by her children Gregory Fritch; Vickie (Timothy) Finch and Terri Canale; grandchildren Brandy, Tiffany, Mandy, Chelsea, Kristy, Tony, Stephen and Susan. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; her sister Sandra (Gerald-deceased) Scherf and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 4th at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the church or to your favorite charity.
