Cathalene F. (Pratt) Miller Cathalene (Cathy) lived her life trusting in Jesus and loving those He brought into her path. She devoted her life to her husband, children, family, friends, and ministry opportunities at her church. She made friends everywhere she went and greeted everyone with a kind word and a warm smile. She truly reflected Jesus’ love and shined His light to all. On September 9, Cathy, 83, passed from this earth to her heavenly home peacefully at home of natural causes. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Marne (they celebrated their 52nd anniversary in June); daughters Bethany (Scott) Bunner and Cherith Miller; grandchildren Christopher, Annabelle, Nathaniel, and Julia Bunner; sisters-in-law Betty Pratt and Marla Kerkam; nieces Gayle and Lynn (Bill Lenfest) Kasch, Amy Pratt, and Laura (Joey) Ketterling; nephews David (Renee), Donald, Eric, and Wesley Pratt, Matthew (Kim) and Paul Kasch, and Keven (Kimberly) Kerkam. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cathalene and Joseph Pratt; sister (and brother-in-law) Peggy (and Don) Kasch; brothers Donald and Charles Pratt; brother-in-law Ben Kerkam; and nephew Erik Kerkam. Cathy was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 9, 1937. She graduated from Waite High School in 1955. During college she worked as an executive secretary during the summers and graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1959 with a degree in education. She was truly born to teach. She could even be seen jumping rope with her students during recess in high-heeled shoes. She taught first and second grade for 12 years before devoting herself to being a full-time mom to her two girls. She taught Sunday school for many years as well as being involved in Women’s Ministries and singing in the church choir for most of her life. She worked to put together countless funeral dinners to comfort those who had lost loved ones over the years through the church women’s minis-try. Cathy was a true prayer warrior. She was an integral part of the prayer chain for the church, held prayer group for the ladies at her house weekly for many years, and was the person that everyone knew would hold them and their requests up in prayer. She kept journals of prayer re-quests, prayed for them believing in God’s faithfulness, and recorded the answers to those prayers. Cathy displayed the fruit of the Spirit in so very many ways. She was loving, kind, gentle, pa-tient, and hospitable. She hosted many parties and her home was the place where friends and family gathered on so very many occasions. She was always up for a game of Yahtzee or Scrabble and enjoyed crossword and Sudoku puzzles.
