Carol L. (Henkel) Jagodzinski was called home to her Lord on September 21, 2023. Carol was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 31, 1933, to Henry and Pearl (Kosmowski) Henkel. Carol graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1951. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Jim Jagodzinski, and they enjoyed 54 loving years together, until his death in 2008. Carol worked as a legal secretary for many years, and also enjoyed volunteer work in Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and in grade school and high school activities in which her three boys participated. Carol and Jim loved to travel throughout the United States and Canada, Europe, and especially several trips throughout England. Carol was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran church and active on various committees there; she was a participating organist at Zion for over 60 years. Carol was a loving mother, and a proud Nana, and her family meant the world to her. Her home was always open and welcoming to family and friends alike, and was the center of every holiday get together.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons James, Jay (Amy), and daughter-in-law Kelly; grandchildren Lindsey (Nick) Naparstek, Hope Jagodzinski, Erin (Jeramey) Polcyn, Christianna (Kyle) Kuhl, James Jr. (Abigail) Jagodzinski, and Joseph Jagodzinski; James P. (Nayeli) Jagodzinski, Stephen Jagodzinski, Heather (Bob Johnson) Jagodzinski, Jessica (AJ) Whitmore, and Carol (Steve) Thom; Joshua (Kate Milczewski) Jagodzinski, Amanda (Troy) Meador, Anthony Jagodzinski, and Jayson Jagodzinski; and sixteen great-grandchildren; sister Sharon Henry; brother-in-law John Jagodzinski, sisters-in-law Patricia (Richard) Fitzenreiter, and Nancy (Tom) Smolinski; and many nieces and nephews of her beloved family. Along with her beloved husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Jagodzinski, and granddaughter, Jamie Jagodzinski.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 2:00 to 8;00 p.m. at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on September 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2250 S. Holland Sylvania Rd., Maumee, Ohio, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial tributes may be directed to Resurrection Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or to the donor’s choice.
