Blake A. Hicks

BLAKE ALLEN HICKS (March 16th, 2000 - October 2nd, 2020) Blake Hicks, age 20, passed on Friday, October 2nd as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident. Blake had an infectious personality, was selfless, always smiling, and was always willing to add a helping hand to friends and family. Blake was also happy, genuine, respectful, and mature beyond his years. Blake loved the game of football, having started playing at an early age and was coached by his father on the Reynolds Corners Redskins. Blake would go on to help his father coach the Reynolds Corners team and play football for Rogers High School. Blake was a Special Olympics volunteer and was a member of the VFW auxiliary, in support of his grandpa Dave. Blake loved music, riding his motorcycle, video games, and having fun with his family and beloved dogs Nala, Tebow, and Franklin. Blake is survived by his father, Sheridan “Nick” Hicks (Melannie Mills) and mother Michelle Fackler (Chris Willard), along with grandparents David and Judy Fackler and Medie Jr. Hicks (Deb Renollet) and Beverly Moody-Hicks, plus a great grandmother, Joyce Moody. Blake’s girlfriend, Arinn Jaquillard and his unborn son, Blake Allen Hicks, Jr. (due in January) also survive. Other survivors include dear siblings Nakia Hicks (Selena Rios; Camilla Hicks), Kirsten Hicks (Brandon Cruz; Brayden & Kingstyn Cruz), Hunter Hicks (Destiny Bryant), and Aiden Hicks, plus close cousin Bradey Garrett and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. Blake was preceded in death by great grandparents, Harold and Marjorie Tibbits, Medie Sr. and Lillie Hicks, and Roy Moody. Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, on Thursday, October 8th from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. It cannot be overstated enough how much this wonderful young man will be missed. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
