Benjamin Frederick Rees

Ben F. Rees, 94, born and raised in Toledo, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27, 2018, under Great Lakes Hospice Care at the Glendale Senior Living, with his family by his side. He is survived by his son Jeff and wife Paulette, and daughter Linda with fiancée Steven; his brother Tom and wife Beverly; niece Julie and nephews, Jimmy and Tommy. Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, and son, Kevin. Ben and Betty were married for 65 years and enjoyed many facets of life together. Ben graduated from Libby High School in 1942, and he had a long, successful career in sales, mostly with Cannon Paper Co., which he truly enjoyed. After raising their 3 children, they spent many winters in Florida, delighting in walks in the sun and surf. Ben had a passion for gathering with friends, including traveling, golfing, and bowling, and liked a robust round of cards. Being a community supporter, Ben was a member of the Eagles and Elks Clubs, and volunteered at the Toledo Zoo. To celebrate Ben’s life, there will be a family and friends gathering to honor him at the Heatherdowns Country Club on Friday September 14th.
