Arthur H. Meintzer, 101, of Toledo and Whitehouse, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Arthur was the son of Arthur E. and Ida (Mierke) Meintzer. Hal severed in the United States Army during WWII in Germany and the European Theater with the 247th Engineer Combat Battalion. Arthur married Marion Scharer on July 3, 1958. He was a professional carpenter working out of the Ohio Carpenters Union for over 35 years, retiring in 1980. He and his wife Marion were active members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. Hal was a 55 year member of the Barton Smith Masonic Lodge No. 613. Hal was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marion; brother Norman Meintzer and his wife Peggy, and his business partner Philip Fisher and his wife Martha. He is survived by his niece Pam (Bob) Rothe, great-nieces JoAnn Rothe, Rhonda Rothe and Tanya Rothe; best friends William (Ande) Fisher, Gale (Mary) Fisher and Dale (Avis) Fisher. Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 20th from 4 to 7 p.m. Private graveside services will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
