Ann M. Carter, 79 formerly of Swanton and Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully February 1, 2022. Ann was born on June 18, 1942 to Leo and Margaret Zitzelberger. She graduated from St. Ursula. Ann worked at Tolco Corporation until she retired. After retirement, she worked providing care and assistance for the a family in Sylvania with young children. She was always involved with her grandchildren and truly lived life to make them feel loved. She always loved camping at Sunny’s Campground and was an avid NASCAR fan dutifully watching the races each and every Sunday. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (Rusty) Carter, son, Glen Schad, great-grandchild, Neveah Choyce, and brother-in-law, Rick Hilsenbeck. Surviving are her sons, William (Tena) Schad and Dwad Scott Schad, her grandchildren Crystal Schad, Michael Schad, Brittnie Choyce, Courtney Torres, Hunter Schad, Eric Schad and Raymond Schad, along with her great-grandchildren, Malachi, Makayla, Madisyn, Cameron, Emillio, Devillio, Logan and Chance. Also surviving are her brothers, Denny Zitzelberger, Mike (Barb) Zitzelberger, Thomas Zitzelberger, sisters, Linda Zitzelberger and Mary Hilsenbeck. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, on Tuesday, February 8th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral service will begin Wednesday February 9th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
