Virginia Mae Hawkins of Perrysburg, formerly of Toledo, died on May 11, 2017at age 92. She was the daughter of Ethel (Mathias) Peppers and attorney Wayne R. Peppers. She is survived by daughters Sally Stickley and Mary (Todd) Emmett and son Barry (Peggy) Hawkins; grandchildren Heather (Keith) Jackson, Heath (Nicole) Stickley, Kahla and Jessica Taylor and Adam Hawkins; 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Virginia received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Toledo and was a charter member of Alpha Omicron Pi. A longtime member of Park Congregational United Church of Christ, she was active in Park Seniors, Ruth Circle and the Women’s Fellowship Guild. Her interest included music, reading, theatre, travel and gardening. Virginia liked keeping busy and had a great sense of humor which she felt made folks feel young and impeded loneliness. Her body was cremated and the remains buried at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by The Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave. A memorial service will be held at Park Congregational Church, 1456 Harvard Blvd. Toledo, Ohio 43614 on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation from 10 AM until the time of service. Benevolences in Virginia’s name may be donated to the church or to the Shriners Children Hospitals.
