Tyler "Buzzy Royce Ruch

December 29, 2001 — January 1, 2021

Tyler “Buzzy” Royce Ruch, age 19, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly on January 1, 2021 at home. Tyler was born on December 29, 2001. He spent nearly the first year of his life in hospitals and has undergone many surgeries and procedures throughout his lifetime due to a congenital heart defect, prematurity, and cerebral palsy. Despite these obstacles, with love and support from his family and friends, Tyler enjoyed a happy, fun, and fulfilling life. Tyler graduated in June 2020 from Maumee High School and was continuing his education at Penta Career Center in the Job Training program. Tyler loved Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear from early on so much that it became his nickname. Buzzy had a passion for bowling, swimming, playing baseball for the Hound Dogs of the Greater Toledo Challenger Little League and most of all playing sled hockey for the Toledo Walleye. He was excited to be the team manager and scorekeeper for the Maumee High School Hockey Team for over 3 years. He was a Lego Master, loved his video games and was quite savvy when it came to any electronic device. Tyler was a Toledo Rockets fan through and through and loved going there to work with his dad. He was also an Ohio State, Red Wing and Walleye fan. Favorite family times included playing games, dinners at Loma Linda Restaurant, vacations to Fort Myers Beach Florida and the annual Ruch Thanksgiving Golf Outing. Tyler was an inspiration to many, was known for his sense of humor, gave the world’s best hugs and his smile could light up a room. He will be dearly missed. Tyler leaves behind his loving parents Tim and Tammy, Brother, Toby; Grandparents Pat Ruch, George and Wallie “Opa & Oma” Reinprecht; Uncle Kurt Ruch; Aunts Michele “Beanny” Ruch, Chrissy “Tanti” Reinprecht; Cousins, Heather (Brian) Cain, Robert (Jennifer) Shepler, and Anneliese “Wheezy” Kinkaid. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Royce Ruch and his Uncle Tom Ruch.
