Susan E Lahnum

Susan E. (Biniker) Lahnum Susan E. Lahnum, 72 of south Toledo passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Susan was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 2, 1945 to Basil and Virginia (Schmidt) Biniker. A 1963 graduate of Bowsher High School , she then went on to MaChere’ School of Beauty and became a hairdresser. Susan worked for Burtons Hair Styling at Parkway Plaza until she opened The Willow Tree Salon in 1975 on Byrne Road. She later went on to open Hair Designers on Airport Highway and in Perrysburg and ran both shops until she retired. She was a member of the former First English Lutheran Church and also belonged to the Maumee Elks and was a member of the Toledo Sailing Club. Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and her former husband, Doug Lahnum. She is survived by her daughters Amy Pitchford and Heather Blodgett, grandsons Kevin Blodgett and Braden Pitchford ,as well as, 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Kathy (Edd) Teal, Barb (Tom) Peternel, and Mary (Dan) Holley; son-in law Kevin Blodgett, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 12th, 2017 from 2-8 PM at The Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment will be private. Those planning memorials are asked to consider the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of NW Ohio.
