Sandra "Sandy" Lee Jones

Sandra Lee Jones (Dowling), born on November 24, 1941, passed to eternal life on November 9, 2015. Sandy was the first born of eight children to Betty and Edwin Dowling. During her marriage she bore two sons, Donald (Paulette) and Jerry (Mandy) Jones. Throughout her career, Sandy worked as a credit manager and an office manager for several corporations in Ohio and California, the most recent was the Dismat Company, from which she retired several years ago. Sandy loved to entertain and continued to do so even though she had become almost completely blind from chemo-therapy. Sandy was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church for 18 years and was active in their yearly events. Sandy loved her grandchildren, although they did not know her well. She was a good friend to everyone she met, and will be missed by her family and friends, especially at The Waterford. Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by two brothers, Curtis and James. She is survived by her siblings, Barbara (Jeff) Rogers, Suzanne Dowling, Leslie (David) Hanna, Brad (Patti) Dowling, Beverly Dowling, Alison (John) Van Rynen. Sandy is also survived by her sweet canine companion, "Bailey," now in the loving care of Sharon. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Jacob and Killian; as well as 16 nieces and nephews. Special thanks go to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care of Sandy in her last weeks. The family requests donations in Sandy's memory go to St. Charles Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family will receive guests at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave. on Sunday, November 15 from 2-8 p.m. A mass of resurrection will be held at St. Charles Church, 1842 Airport Hwy. on Monday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m.
