Robert James Burmeister

Robert James Burmeister, 79, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Robert was born, in Toledo, on July 18, 1944, to Paul and Thelma Burmeister.

Robert worked as an engineer for Owens-Illinois and as a technician for the Brooks Observatory at the University of Toledo. He was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister Judy Lemons. He is survived by ,his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Fox) Burmeister; sons Robert John (James) and James (Maria) Burmeister; three granddaughters Meghan and Mary Burmeister, Kristin (Michael) Fitzgerald, and brother Thomas (Joyce) Burmeister. Also surviving are his three dogs.

Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, on Friday, August 11th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Robert’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12th at 9:30 a.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 5445 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, Ohio.
