Richard R. Osten

Richard R. Osten, age 77, of Maumee Ohio, passed away December 30, 2020. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 15, 1943 to Robert and Nancy Osten. Richard loved the Cleveland Browns, Toledo Symphony, and annual LPGA, but above all else, he loved his family. He was a 1961 graduate of Macomber Vocational High School and attended the University of Toledo. Richard is a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for the Toledo Board of Education as a Clerk Typist in 1960-61. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served until October 1966. He then worked for Owens-Illinois as an Accountant, retiring in 2000. Richard enjoyed playing tennis and bowling with his brother John and numerous friends. He was a member of the Golden Emblem Retiree Golf League, where he truly enjoyed the friendships of all who participated. Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth I Osten, parents Robert and Nancy Osten, and Sister Joan A Osten. He is survived by his Brother John H Osten (Kathi) and his children Shay H Kennedy (Brian), Thad M Osten (Beth), and Brynn C Burr, grandchildren; Rhyssa Nicole Kennedy, Derek William Kennedy, Kathryn Marie Osten, Carson Michael Osten, Delanee Carroll Burr and Owynn James Burr. He is also survived by his step daughter Shawn L Reiter (Mickey) and step son David J Benner. Step granddaughter Dana Irene Guerrero (Justin), great grandson Kaynen and nieces Rachelle Becker (Ralph), Hether James (Michael), Brandi Hahn (Steve), and Michelle Cline (Andy).
