Raymond E. Ruiz
God called our beloved Raymond E. Ruiz, 29, to heaven on October 26, 2023. Raymond was born to Mary (Nunceo) Montano and Edmundo S. Ruiz Jr. on April 9, 1994, in Toledo, Ohio. A loving father and son, Raymond was a joy to be around. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed putting smiles on the faces of family and friends. Raymond (Pun) was a big kid at heart and lit up every room he entered. He loved God and enjoyed listening to music. An enduring student and residential construction laborer, Raymond loved to spend time with family and making them laugh. A talented artist and writer, he enjoyed drawing and sharing his art with those closest to him. He was a devoted Toledo Mud Hens fan and proud to call Toledo home.
Raymond is survived by loved ones that will continue to honor his name and legacy. Raymond will watch from heaven his two beautiful daughters Athalia (7) and Analia Ruiz (6). He is survived by grandparents Edmundo S. Sr. and Juliana Ruiz and Norma Nunceo. He is survived by his parents Edmundo S. Ruiz Jr. (Mary Helen) and Mary Montano (Juan). He is also survived by siblings Nikki, Mia, Maria, Tyler, Antonio (Nereyda), Emilio, Edmundo S. III, Julian Ruiz, Alina Hernandez, Amaira, Mercedes, Miguel, Juan Jr., Isaac Montano. He is also survived by his loving tías Danella Torres, Christina Muniz, Josephine Vallejo, Sarah Contreras (Mario), Christina Martinez, Raquel (Kevin) Ruiz, Rebeca “Beca” Ruiz, Connie (Jesus) Juarez and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his grandfather Daniel Torres and cousins Ruben Parraz II and Andrew (Chuzz) Ruiz.
Raymond’s love of God, family, and art will live on through his caring family and friends. We are grateful and blessed to have had this treasured time with him. He will be remembered by his charming smile, sense of humor, and unconditional loving heart. Words cannot express how much Raymond will be missed. We will forever love and cherish his memory.
To honor Raymond’s life, we invite you to join us for viewing at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, OH 43614. Viewing will be on Saturday, November 4th from 4pm to 8pm and on Sunday, November 5th from 2pm to 8pm, with prayer service on Sunday at 7pm.
Funeral service will begin at 9am on Monday, November 6th at Walter Funeral Home. Church Mass services will follow at 11am at Saint Peter & Paul’s Church, 738 S. St. Clair St., Toledo, OH 43609. The burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 5725 Hill Ave., Toledo, OH 43615.
