Raymond A. Miller, Jr., age 84, of Toledo, Ohio, was released from his many years of suffering and pain while surrounded by the love of his family on May 25, 2018 at hospice of Northwest Ohio. He is survived by his wife Ann M. Miller, sons, Brian R. (Gina), Jeffrey R. (Vickie) and daughters, Joy A. Kierczak (Mike), and Mary Beth Nelson (Patrick), 8 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and one sister, Irene Cieslewicz (Ron), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond A. Miller, Sr. and Thelma Miller, 7 siblings along with many valued and loved friends and family. Ray attended Sylvania schools and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in the late 50’s. He was employed by Haughton (Millar, Schindler) Elevators for over 35 years. He loved spending time with his family and many friends traveling, playing cards, golfing, fishing, or hunting. He truly enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the woods, golf course, and the water. Ray was a 32nd degree Mason with 50 plus years membership, Scottish Rite, 50-year member of Zenobia Shrine (Arab Patrol), Maumee Elks, American Legion, and Southside Sportsman. He assisted the trap team of E.L. Bowsher High School and Troop 95 Boy Scouts of America. He was a devout Christian and long-time member of Park Congregational United Church of Christ. As per his wishes, there will be no public visitation, and inurnment at Toledo Memorial Cemetery will be private. A memorial service will be held at Park Congregational United Church of Christ, 1456 Harvard Blvd. Toledo, Ohio 43614, on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. followed by a luncheon at the church. The family would like to give a very special thanks to all involved in his spiritual and physical care, especially nurse Eve Jurski, aide Ginger Smith and therapists from Ohioans Home Health Care.
