Ramona Juliana Vallejo

Ramona Juliana Vallejo August 7, 1946 - February 3, 2022 Ramona J, Vallejo, age 75, Passed away on, Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Toledo Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family, as she was welcomed into Gods loving arms. She was born on August 7, 1946 in Dallas, Tx. to Alejandro A. and Madge (DeBolt) Escamilla. Ramona graduated from Woodward High School, in 1964 and graduated from Stautzenberger College. In addition she attended the University Of Toledo, and earned a degree as a Legal Secretary. Her places of employment included The Hylant Group, where she worked as a Commercial Service Representative, for 25 years, until her retirement. She then un-retired and went to work full time at Dillards (Franklin Park), as a salesperson in the women’s clothing department. She was the top Salesperson and Awards Winner for 10 years until her retirement. Ramona was a member of the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution), and enjoyed researching the family genealogy. Ramona loved and cherished family above all, and never hesitated to help, no matter the circumstances or the additional burdens it may bear. She gave with all her heart and loved unconditionally; to have Ramona as a family member or a friend meant that you could always count on her to be at your side, when you needed her most. Ramona loved animals. There were so many animals: Sara, Midnight, Oso, Chipper, Lady, Goldie, Scooter, and Chloe, to name a few. She loved music of all kinds, but Motown was her favorite. Her favorite colors were, Yellow, Coral, Rose, Green and Blue. Her favorite flower was Lily of the Valley, and her favorite season was Fall. Ramona's favorite sayings were, "When Pigs Fly", and "It Is What It Is." She was a terrific cook, and always looked forward to preparing and hosting Christmas Eve Dinner for her family and friends. Ramona loved to bake as well, and was often called upon to make cakes for Weddings, and other occasions. She loved to travel, see new places and experience new things, but returning home was most special to her, because that was where her family always gathered. Her family was her pride. The thing she was most proud of was her Marriage of 60 years to Armando, and her sons Maurice and Nathan. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee. Ramona was preceded in death by her Father, Alejandro Abrego Escamilla, Mother, Madge (DeBolt) Escamilla, Brother, Santiago (Jimmy) Escamilla, and Nephew, Donald Joseph (Donny) Olejnik. Ramona is survived by her husband Armando Vallejo, sons, Maurice (Judith) Vallejo, Nathan (Lisa) Vallejo, Sister, Adita (Donald) Olejnik, Brothers, Phillip, Alex and Gilbert Escamilla, Grandchildren, Alyssa (Joshua) Murchison, Mariah Vallejo (Andrew Parks), Brianna and Alex Vallejo. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Friday, February 11th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue. A Rosary Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Services will begin Saturday, February 12, 9:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home, and will continue with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, Ohio. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio. Memorial tributes may be given to the Toledo Area Humane Society or Save A Pet.
